2Choose Tracking Mode
On the Preview page, locate the Monocular Tracking panel (shown on the right). Set Tracking to On, then select a Tracking Mode:
- Presenter: The camera locks onto a single person and follows them smoothly as they move. Ideal for a single speaker, teacher, or presenter.
- Zone (Region): The camera tracks a person within predefined regions and transitions between regions as the person moves across the scene. Ideal for wide stages, panel discussions, or classrooms. See Step 3: Set Up Zone Tracking for detailed instructions.
3Set Up Zone Tracking
To use Zone Tracking, you must define 2–4 tracking regions in the Regional Settings panel, located just below Monocular Tracking.
- Select the tracking mode. Set Mode to Zone.
- Set your first region. Use the on-screen PTZ arrows to move the camera and adjust the zoom until the desired area is framed. Click Set next to Region 1 to save it.
- Set the remaining regions. Select the next region number, adjust the camera to frame the next area, and click Set next to that region. Repeat until you have configured at least 2 regions, up to a maximum of 4.
- Activate a saved region. Click Run next to the region you want the camera to track.
Important: Make adjacent regions overlap.
Arrange your regions from left to right, making sure that each region slightly overlaps the next one, as shown below. This overlap helps the camera smoothly transition between regions as the subject moves across the scene, reducing the chance of losing track of the subject.

| Setting | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Auto Tracking | The main ON/OFF switch. Turn it ON after configuring the settings below. |
| Target Position | Determines where the presenter appears in the frame: Left, Center, or Right. Select your preferred position and click Active to apply it. |
| Target Scale | Controls how large the presenter appears in the frame. Options include 1/6, 1/8, 1/10, 1/12, 1/16, 1/20, and Full Body. For reference, 1/6 provides a close-up of the head and shoulders, while 1/12 gives a wider view of the upper body. |
| Lock Scaling Ratio | Turn this ON to keep the zoom level more consistent as the presenter moves, providing a smoother and more comfortable viewing experience. |
| Target Lost Timeout | Sets how long the camera waits (2–10 seconds) before returning to its home position after the presenter leaves the frame. |
| Target Switching | When two people are in the frame, click Left or Right to switch the tracking target. If more than two people are present, zoom in on the person you want to track, then zoom out and switch targets. |
3Setup Tracking Zone
This feature creates a safe zone for auto tracking. The camera tracks the presenter only within the defined area. If the presenter moves outside the zone, the camera stops tracking and returns to its home position. This is useful for preventing the camera from turning toward doorways or the audience.
How to Set Up the Tracking Zone
- Turn OFF Auto Tracking and Pan/Tilt Limit.
- Using the on-screen PTZ control arrows, aim the camera at the top-left corner of your desired zone, then click Left Up to save the position.

- Turn ON Pan/Tilt Limit, then turn ON Auto Tracking. The camera will now track the presenter only within the defined zone.
To Clear a Saved Position: Click the corresponding Left Up or Right Down button once to delete that saved position.
4Set the Home Position
The home position is where the camera returns when the presenter is no longer detected, after the Target Lost Timeout expires.
- Turn OFF Auto Tracking.
- Use the on-screen PTZ controls or IR remote to aim the camera at your preferred default view.
- Click Initial Position Set to save the position. The button will turn darker blue, and a double-arrow icon will appear to confirm that the position has been saved.
- Turn Auto Tracking ON. The camera will now automatically return to this position whenever the tracking target is lost.
To Change the Home Position: Click Initial Position Set again to delete the saved position, then repeat the steps above to set a new one.
5Set a blackboard no-track area
This feature defines an area where horizontal tracking movement is disabled, such as a teacher standing in front of a whiteboard. When the presenter is inside the designated zone, the camera holds its position. Tracking resumes when the presenter moves outside the zone, helping maintain a stable view for the audience.
Important: Turn OFF both Auto Tracking and Blackboard Area Detection before configuring the zone.
- Turn OFF Auto Tracking and Blackboard Area Detection.
- Use the PTZ controls to frame the desired zone, then click Board Position0 to save it. Use Board Position1 to configure a second zone. A double-arrow icon will appear to confirm that the position has been saved.
- Turn Blackboard Area Detection ON, then turn Auto Tracking ON.
To Clear a Saved Zone: Click the corresponding Board Position0 or Board Position1 button once to delete the saved position.
